Is there ever a situation where you can maintain a friendship with someone that used to be like a situation ship of yours or a friends with benefit? For example, if you guys were friends with benefit at 18 and you know 20 years later you reconnect as friends or if you decide to ask your partner if he or she is okay with it.

You can stay cordial with an ex and you can continue to contact them until you make the decision that you are going to begin a relationship with someone else. But once you begin a relationship with someone else, there should be no contact.

You mean no contact of any sort even if it's just like once a year birthday or or let's catch up one or twice a year.

I feel like that's just really awkward territory, especially when you're moved on and you know, you have a partner and all that, but I think the one and only like exception or scenario, as you mentioned, is when there's a child involved. Because I have known some people or like, I don't know them personally, but like I have known of individuals who conceived a child. And so they they stay in connection obviously for that child.
