So I think tech is an interesting space because obviously for you know different career paths that are seen as lucrative like being a lawyer or being a doctor you absolutely have to get a degree and you have to get certified. But tech is unique in that anyone can really theoretically go into it but yet a lot of jobs ask for a computer science degree. I think it's slightly changing and the only people holding on to the importance of a degree are the people who have one themselves. But curious to hear what you guys think.
I don't think a degree is necessary to get into a career in tech, especially nowadays where there's a lot of information online that you can learn yourself and there's also certificates that you can achieve that.
Totally. I think some people are still hanging on to the degree thing, but overall, like, experience is so much more important, like, in the real world.
I think it really depends and also depends on how long you're okay with waiting to get to the position that you want. So if it's for software engineer I don't think a degree is necessary, however if it's for a product manager, then I do think it is.
