There are plenty of historical writings and records telling us the story of how and why Mount Rushmore was created. I think it's more interesting to see the records of the historical photos of it being built. It's interesting to me that the faces and the features look so perfectly smooth. We've always been told this was done mostly with explosives like dynamite. So could explosives and some hand sculpting in such a relatively short time period create a perfect flawless image like this? And how did their eyes get that shine? It's kind of weird. Also, it kind of looks like these were added on almost like toppers rather than carved out of the mountain. I don't know that it's necessarily sinister, but just another questionable point to consider about the history of this monument.
