Eventually, Congress repealed the resolution and exited Vietnam. Public support had almost entirely waned, and U.S. citizens wanted to be rid of our presence in the conflict. To this day, there is still debate regarding the reports of the attack, and many believe this was a history-altering government conspiracy.
