I've just spent an ungodly amount of time doing all sorts of bureaucracy and it all has to do with company registration etc and employer registration and so on because I do have my own company and this all comes down to having to re-register because I've not been using the company for many years because for some reason their digital filing system and so on and so forth can't keep it, can't keep up with it. And I've had my first share of basically frustrations when I've actually had people from the revenue services insist that I send them an Excel of invoices and they don't even know how to widen the columns. They said it was illegible. They actually just had to widen the columns. My The point being that I know it's difficult for governments and so on to really, I'd say, do a full overhaul of their tech platforms and so on and so forth. But I really hope they get on it soon. And I'm wondering if there's any governments particularly that you feel have really nailed that piece of it. I mean, I think in Norway they're doing quite well, especially on the medical and health related digitalisation but other than that, yeah. Do let me know, do let me know your thoughts and if you're having the same frustrations as I am just having to deal with the government, particularly age of my sea.
I instantly just took a deep sigh when I saw this because I feel your pain and administration and government web services from country to country so different and if you ever have to go back and start the process over I'd rather just jump off a cliff. Maybe not but I feel like I want to anyway.
Okay, so now I'm back on my rant. How is it even possible? They want, you know, you to have all the paperwork in place, but digitally they're not prepared. I feel like every government website I've ever visited are some of the most prehistoric functioning websites I've ever used. And you know they paid good money for those websites to be made front and back end.
Yes, they definitely pay good money for it. The problem is that the people running it in public sector don't know anything about it. And I've seen this firsthand because I've been in and I've actually pitched tech to public sector. And it was literally like stepping into an episode of The Office. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen. Do you know even the White House website runs on WordPress? They just need WordPress developers, but they don't have... They don't hire people for this. People who know how to do this. They just... because, well, they hire people who know how to do it, but not the people who oversee it.
What's driving me mad here because They want me to reregister but they don't want me to read all the details But they want to do most of it, but not all of it etc. It's just such a nightmare and register for tax again Etc. But not without not with new numbers not so it's it's it's really really weird So we'll see what happens. I'll keep you posted Oh, there was nothing, what was I going to say?
Oh yeah, that was it. I mean, taxes are just the best example of the inefficiencies of the government. Basically, it's like government saying, hey, you owe us money. I was like, oh really? Okay. Do you know how much I owe you? Government's like, yeah. Okay, well, can you tell me? No. You have to guess. Okay, well what if I guess it wrong? Okay, then you go to jail. And we're gonna let you know if you guess it wrong. It's so stupid.
