Let's talk about being the default parent and being the default parent as a mom specifically so I Personally feel like society just expects that the mom will do everything and that like if the dad does things it's Benefit that are beneficial to the mom. It's like a a favor, you know? Like we are two people that equally made this baby and share this responsibility, but it's like oh Is the dad gonna babysit for you today? Like what? No, that's his kid He's just gonna watch his kid just like I watch my kid now. They're one of us are babysitters. Okay, but anyways, I Just feel like it's really ingrained in our society and even when Like my husband is an A plus partner. I have no complaints You know, we've had our ups and downs, you know through having a baby just like anyone, but he's a hands-on dad. He's a great partner I'm very very grateful And I genuinely couldn't ask for a better partner or ask for anyone else to be my child's father Like I'm very blessed and grateful. So all of that being said, it's not like he's a piece of shit I just really really think it's so embedded in society. So today had a crappy day with my son He was just in a really bad mood all day. My husband worked all day. He came home and was like Get out of here go to the gym or go get a coffee. Just like go go take a break And I was hesitant because it was almost bedtime and my son expects that I'm going to put him to bed and It's not that my husband can't do it But it's just like my son and I like he likes when I lay with him and it's like a whole thing so I was hesitant to be like yeah, I'm gonna go and My husband was like no just go I'll put him to bed for you." And then he quickly corrected himself and was like, for us. And I just thought that was like a really prime example of like, not that he thinks he's He's not necessarily doing me a favor, but it's ingrained that way.
