So I was at the shops earlier today and I couldn't help but look at the flower section and I wanted to come on and ask you guys how you feel about flowers because for me, whether I buy them for myself or I'm gifted them by my partner, my friends, my family, etc. I just feel on top of the world and I actually read a quote recently mentioning how flowers are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul and I couldn't agree more. I just love them and I also enjoy gifting them to other people and just seeing the joy that it comes over their face when they see the fresh bouquet of flowers their way. But yeah, I would love to hear your two cents about this.
Always stop and smell the flowers I say but I don't love flowers but I think they're a very thoughtful gift and I'll never say no to them. They definitely brighten up a room.
You know, I've had so many people tell me they don't love flowers, but if it was gifted to them, they're fine taking it. Just basically what you said. And I find that so interesting because I'm obsessed with flowers. Like, I love buying them on a bi-weekly basis. They're just so great to have around, either for myself or for those around me. But I get where you're coming from, and I respect it.
You know what it is? It's just that flowers are actually really high maintenance, right? Like you have to cut off the stems properly, feed it, share water, make sure it has even a vase to hold it, and then check it on it throughout the week or put it in the fridge so it lasts longer. So I think it's a lot of work.
Oh, I totally see where you're coming from because actually one of the things I love about flowers is the extensive care. I just find it to be so therapeutic to care for something. Yeah, even if it's temporary, it's nice. And I actually save the flower petals like I like bake them in the oven and preserve them, but each of their own. I get it. I totally get where you're coming from. most of my friends think just like you.
I actually have a friend who thinks exactly like you do on this subject. She just finds it to be totally meaningless because flowers are accessible anywhere and everywhere type of thing, but I do get where you're coming from. I totally get it and I respect it.
I love receiving flowers like roses are nice but anything other than that is always like they kind of thought about it a little more so yeah I love I love getting flowers
Ooh, I really like what you said about this. And it's actually interesting because in my area, it's the other way around. Like knock on wood, my partner and I, we have a pretty healthy and happy relationship. And he's gone out and gotten flowers from like different stores. Like he'll go to different stores until he finds the roses that he's looking for. Again, I don't ask for any of this. He just does it because he's like aiming to find a certain color and a certain type, which are roses. But if not, he'll find something close to it. but interesting.
Oh I love them I feel like each person has their own special type of flower that they like and there's a reason for that and especially when like you get them gifted it's like you know somebody thought of you you know they thought of what you like what your favorite color is there see them in the store and they just like obviously immediately think of you so like you obviously feel special you know I love getting flowers
I love how you brought up when somebody gets you something they think of you type of energy because I absolutely love that. And you know what? Knock on wood. My partner and I, we have a pretty healthy and happy relationship and he's done so many things to impress me, but definitely flowers though. Let me tell you, like I said it to somebody else in the comments, but he's gone to different stores to find a certain flower that reminds me and him of each other. And I don't know. like the sweetest thing ever.
I love flowers and receiving them is the best thing ever any kind is fine I have favorites obviously so like white roses pink roses are always fun but anything else is cute as well I think for me that's like the best gift I could get
I totally agree that they're the best gift to get and I actually buy them for myself a couple times a month but that doesn't stop my partner because you know at knock on wood he and I have a healthy and happy relationship and you know he made initiative from the start to get me things that make me happy and flowers is obviously the biggest one and so he will not stop until he gets a certain type of flower and I'm just shocked because I've never had a guy do that before and it's really really nice. It's great to experience this.
Listen, I don't hate flowers, but I don't love flowers. You know, I don't Girl give me some flowers. I'm gonna take the flowers like I'm often a mealy throw them away You know say I'm your dickhead. I'm gonna walk like a couple miles and then throw them in trash because I don't I like flowers but I don't like them like that.
Oh my gosh, wait, I don't know why but your answer made me a little sad because I know that's not what your intention was but like Oh my gosh, if someone gets you something that you don't like I would just be like nice about it and like try to give it back Because in the past I've been given things that I'm like not a fan of and I try to be as nice as I can be But when it's something like flowers like Yeah, you gotta you gotta tell them straight up, you know, like instead of throwing it away maybe just give it back to them for them to enjoy for themselves.
Something that's funny about this conversation is that I didn't always love flowers. I thought like, oh, don't buy me flowers, they just die. But one day I woke up and was obsessed and loved them, loved to draw them, and loved receiving them, and I also love giving them. So if anybody eats flowers for a special occasion, I'm great at picking them.
