So I'm curious because I've been working in FinTech for close to a decade and Obviously FinTech stands for financial technology if you're unaware But it's something that's become quite second-hand to me But then I do speak about it and I realize not a lot of people still know what FinTech might necessarily refer to it's been around for about 20 years and It's it is what it says on the tin It's all about financial technology and the use of technology and finance and financial services for anything from consumer to large enterprise. I'd love to chat a lot more about it, but I'd be very curious to see if there's something that people are aware of. You know about what do you know about it, what do you think it's all about or represents? Any questions? be great to hear thoughts.
I think it's pretty well known, but when I go on platforms like LinkedIn, I don't see many people working in the field. So I'm curious as to where these jobs and positions are in different companies.
Funny that you say that because I've been deep into fintech for many years and I know a lot, if not most of the companies in my vertical, in my industry and it seems very small, I mean it's the same people on rotation if you know what I mean So it's a strange one.
Perhaps we need not only to focus on fintech as a disruptor, but maybe we need to disrupt the entry into fintech. Yeah, never thought about that. because it's definitely always looking for talent and it's difficult to find.
I'd be curious to know more. I'm working with recruitment within finance and and you don't really hear much about FinTech at all actually. So I wouldn't say I know much about it to be fair.
For sure, for sure. Basically any level of digital access to financial instruments or services falls under Fintech. That's very interesting actually, that's a good point and good thing, That's why I'm here, hopefully teaching people about fintech.
Now that I saw you absolutely in the right area. So if let's say an app contains any level of financial service embedded into the technology, then it's FinTech. So let's say if you can take a payment through an app, then the app becomes basically a fintech application.
Exactly, that's spot on. And then you've got sort of pure FinTech apps which are all basically digital financial services, you've got digital banking apps, payment apps, things like that. Then obviously you have the bigger apps that contain pieces that would fall under the fintech part.
Very often when you see larger companies that have an overarching different type of focus, they will be using specific fintech companies to integrate their services into their apps that are already regulated so they don't actually have to build it themselves.
