more a question because I've lost control of these things. I remember when when in football or soccer, depending on where you're from, they started coming out with this boot technology. I thought it was a thing it was called like my boot or something spelled M I. And I never never tried it, but it was meant to, it was meant to track everything that you do how far you run a fast run etc etc and you know I just have no oversight anymore of where these things have gone. Are there any kind of, whether techies or sports fans or anybody who know how far they've come with this kind of tracking technology, because obviously in the pro series they're able to get literally everything but they also spent millions on their various systems. Is this something that's still available to the public? Because I never saw these things again so I don't think they were very successful. They were a bit bulky, a bit expensive, you had to kind of put them in your shoes but yeah, do let me know. I'm very curious about these things. I just kind of saw it disappeared and I've never kind of really seen it again.

I'm not exactly sure that it's a thing anymore, and if it is, it's not accessible to the general public.

Yeah, that's a good shout. Maybe the accessibility is the key. Because I don't actually know what kind of technology they use to track professional players. Probably should know that. But I just can't imagine, unless it's very, very tiny chips and custom made shoes, that they can have it on them. I mean they wouldn't want that distraction. So maybe it's just some tracking AI software

The concept is very familiar over here we called it Nike idea and I think I wore it like five times but because of the fact that our cell phones now are able to track outside as long as we have them on our bodies that it effectively does what those you know devices would've done in the first place so I think it's now in our mobile devices as opposed to some disparate Bluetooth related technology hope that helps

Yeah, that actually, that definitely does help. I mean Nike ID, that rings a bell as well. You know, all of these types of different chips. So yeah, I think the only thing I'm kind of curious about that I've completely forgotten, similar to the digital photo frames, is this just kind of went away at some point. And it's sort of how they track things while you're playing a game. But I guess they don't really do that for the general public unless you're a professional player. So yeah, interesting.

Yeah, Nike ID was a thing. I talked about it a few weeks ago in a previous soundbite, but I think Nike ID was tied to Apple, and so when Apple faced it out, it kind of just faced that with the rest because it was attached to the iPod and your phone and all the other things in their ecosystem and that's probably why we never saw another variation of it.

All this dependency talk is codependency talk Nike needs Apple Apple Pay In order to have a product succeed it's kind of scary because if you look at the scale of who Nike and Apple are there's codependency there than I worry for the up-and-coming designers and and how they actually break in and who's who is supporting them in that fashion

I mean, there's always been cope dependency amongst platforms, apps, tech, fashion, you name it. Something needs something to thrive at some point. I mean, even when you look at biology. So I would say I miss the days when companies actually focus on what they did best and Nike does sports best and Apple does tech best. So why not collaborate versus codependency where one needs each other to thrive, not necessarily, but they do together better than they do.

Then they do a part and I totally see what you're saying. Like it's kind of a wild situation that we put ourselves in, but some great innovation has come from it. And also I am happy when companies just focus on what they do. I definitely wouldn't go to a seafood restaurant screaming for pizza because that's just not what they do. So yeah, when people focus on their specialization, we probably would get better products.

I agree with you it's sort of like a Jehovah's Witness showing up to 100 person store and being like shove this down your throat him where I have what I find problematic about the statement that you just made is that there are organizations who do have the kind of capital that it takes to just steal ideas from another company and then wash them out and so while I agree that people should stay in their own lane people don't and that's the problem

Yeah, and I mean I mean with globalization and tech innovation nowadays Not only do people have just access to just about any kind of information they want You know people are poaching people from companies all the time stealing Internal confidential documents etc. So it becomes extremely difficult to keep something proprietary So yeah, no, I like the idea of collaborating and just kind of Focus on what you're good at and then specialize in trade economics

This is a great question actually and I know exactly what you're talking about I see I saw that too but he is a go there any reason why I think it could still be in boots is James with a track individual player stats like shop our distance covered Alyssa doing in my camera technology I wish you never well you must've been doing to come and sit with you before but no must be the case piratical

See this is what I'm thinking and I, you know, with the camera technology we probably have today and I say probably because I don't know this. It's just basically a ton of various algorithms and math equations, you know. They know exactly what distance is covered by the ball when a shot goes off and the time that it took so they calculate how hard it was, things like that, how fast players run, how much they run. They must have millions worth in equipment in a single stadium I'm sure.

I had no idea this was a thing. Is it just a thing in America or is it just a thing everywhere?

No actually I first saw it when I was living at home in Norway. So I first saw it in Europe. And this was something that I thought was super cool and I've had the chance to buy it. I've had the funds to do so. But if I remember correctly the shoe, the football shoe, had a compartment below. So there was a little bit bulky between the studs where you had this chip that that would track everything, but it just looked inconvenient to be honest.
