Ever enjoyed a quick cup of instant ramen? Thank Momofuku Ando, the genius behind this global staple. Born in Taiwan in 1910, Ando moved to Japan post-Putu, dabbling in various jobs, but it was in his 40s when he saw people crowding a ramen stall in post-war Osaka that inspiration struck. Amidst food shortages, he believed noodles could combat world hunger. By 1958, he founded Nissin and introduced chicken ramen, his innovation, flash-frying noodles for quick boiling. 1971 saw the birth of cup noodles, inspired by folks using coffee cups as ramen bowls, despite controversies Ando's legacy as the instant noodle sage endures. As he once said, mankind is noodle kind. Delicious wisdom indeed, stay sharp with Teal.
