I'm 45 years old, and this was my son's very first flight at just three days old. This photo for Throwback Thursday was taken February 20th, 2013. It wasn't ideal, but this is what we had to do because my wonderful surrogate lived in another state. I was so nervous about my son catching some sickness on the plane, I bought the lightest weight blanket, which is not pictured, and kept it over his car seat to serve as a barrier of protection from any germs. My little baby was just 36 weeks old and not even six pounds, but we made it home just fine. This whole process, since I had never done it before, was so scary and so special.
