So the topic is the average child is 10 years old getting a cell phone. I was always team, no my child's never getting a cell phone until she's able to pay for that cell phone because I was 15 working and paying for my cell phone because that was just how it worked you know that's how my dad was and my mom was and that's just was the rule and that's was going to be the rule for my kid but um my significant other was like no we're going to get every a cell phone and she got a cell phone two years ago. She starts middle school in sixth grade next year and she starts cheer and with half of the school having a cell phone and you know them being in school longer hours and yeah the rules just not safe anymore. Yeah I think a cell phone is smart and I think the average is probably 10 or at least middle school, sixth grade. That would be like 10, 11. So that makes sense. Um, my youngest now has her iPad that she's had forever. Um, so I did tell her that when she does start working at age 15 or 16, depending on whenever I decide, um, she will be paying for that because, um, nothing comes free in this world and she's going to do exactly what I did as a child. or teenager. So yeah, it's free now but it won't be free then. So yeah, average is 10, I think. So that's my take on the cell phone. But my child is not attached to the phone at all. I will add that. My kids love to be outside more than they are attached to the phone or the iPad. Anyway, so that's my take.
