First off, shout out to Aerold for this conversation that I'm bringing to you. It was inspired from a previous soundbite that I posted. But anyway, I've been thinking the more and more that we have information and access to music and media, do you feel like we're getting the quality that we deserve? And what could we do to change the narrative so they were always getting the quality versus quantity? Because right now it seems like it's all about how many songs can be put out, how many videos can be put out, how many movies, and nothing seems quite quality, and we're just settling.

As someone who's been in the entertainment business forever, I can totally see how it's been more inundated. Definitely, I think, in music. It's brought the quality down in the mainstream. I firmly believe that mainstream quality, getting cheeseball or just derivative always drives the underground scenes to be larger. So, you know, it is what it is. All right later

especially from someone who's been in the business, what underground scene do you find to be the biggest? I know I would automatically think like punk or rock, but what other underground scenes do you find to be really big? Is there a pop underground scene? Is that a such thing?

I would have to say yes. I think the culture is definitely Accepting quicker the quantity over the quality When it comes to music and media because think about it now you don't even really need the talent You know as long as you got a machine to make it seem like you have the talent people are gonna buy it. It's kind of weird. And it sucks.

So I have a question for you. What music are you into? some dope music that's out that you're listening to right now.

You know what? I still listen to like all school music from like mid-2000s and older. Some new stuff like it pops up on my Spotify. I'll give it a listen. If it don't capture my ears in like the first few seconds, I don't know. So I don't know how to answer that.

I would say everything from the 70s all the way into the early 2000s has me in a show cold and I'm staying there and I'm okay with it.

Yeah for real because at least back then there was like substance Now is to the point where I feel like I'm craving substance whether it be in conversation in in content on movies or TV because the quantity is already there, but I'm craving quality.

Absolutely and I think like people who are life-minded we have to start sharing these things because they're not always right in front of us and very obvious but I will say I'm starting to see people going more on tour and I think that's how we make a bigger point is by supporting people when they go on tour more than when they're streaming on a platform. It makes a different noise.

I do feel that saturation that you're talking about, but I do think the quality is still there. You just have to look for it, read through all the other stuff.

That's the thing, it's bizarre that we have been conditioned to look for quality over quantity. quality should always be there.

Appreciate a shout out I just saw this and I gotta say I agree with you I think it's one of those where we are prioritising quantity because the more you put out the more likely it's going to be seen right he's brought one quality piece every month and Megan Smith and it's like damn time for for nothing and people neither the elevation of lake or are people have seen this to know whether that's good or not but it does eventually create a ton of noise which isn't helpful either as its currency to really

Ooh, a valid point that you just put out there. Instant gratification for quantity over quality. Why does that sound like a dissertation? But anyway, of course, shouting you out, you always have great content that you put out and you always come back with great comments. not a problem at all.

Quality control is going to be very hard it's great to aspire to but now I think a lot of brands and companies are seeing a quick moneymaking schemes and it's becoming super addictive we seen it with you know artist go viral on TikTok and how companies are jumping on the bandwagon so popcorn music is now a thing amongst other things I just think it's gonna keep going

No, you never settle, especially when it comes to media music. Like, why would you want to do that? absolutely never do that.

I mean, yeah, we can search and search for the things we want, but I feel like they're prioritizing quantity over quality, so we're not having as much access because they're putting so much noise in the wind.
