Okay, so my son has learned to hit lately if he doesn't get his way, if something is upsetting him, he will like hit the floor, hit us. And I know like kids learn stuff on their own. So obviously he doesn't have to see us hit to learn how to hit like because I really don't know where he would have learned it from. But I'm just curious what you guys did. Like if you gentle parent, like what you did to teach kid that hitting is not okay because I have tried so many things and it's just not working. I don't know what to do but like it can be so embarrassing when we're in public and he hits. He's like a little over a year but I'm just stressed out because I don't want him to like be a kid that hits if he doesn't get his way and stuff and it just makes me really really nervous. So if you had a hitter what did you do?

Yes my daughter hits anytime we tell her no I don't do some thing and like it's not all the time but like when she's in a bad mood or like she's just being grumpy and grouchy and we tell her no that's when she'll hit it's so hard to stop it like I'm struggling here

My two year old until like the hitting about two months ago and he still doing it but not as often and I think what helped is obviously just reinforcing him a gentle way of telling him no heading is not OK

And if he's still hitting, I will walk him to his room and I will tell him, okay, you're going to stay in your room until you can calm down and then I will walk out. I always leave his door open and I just let him do his thing.

And like you know he'll cry in his room for a couple minutes and then after a couple minutes like he'll calm down like I'll hear him playing in his room and then eventually he'll come out on his own and be all loving and cute

And I think just having them in their room for a few minutes is really helpful for them that way they don't feel so overwhelmed and they kind of like you know is there just like us like sometimes we need a little break

Now you gotta correct that right away Especially when I am like that if you like tap them back it's more so about hurting their feelings and it is about hurting them physically but

Yeah kind of not really us but definitely himself sometimes too or like obviously throws himself on the floor but you can have them hit something else
