I had a lovely day going for a walk in the rain I was going to do my weekly grocery shopping and go to the pet store but of course I didn't know it was a holiday cause I swear there's a holiday every single week here so everything was shut except for a couple bakeries I did get some natural or café from my favorite coffee shop it's the best and then I went to a little bakery got some thing and then I went to a second bakery that was open and five fucking people started laughing when I walked in to grumpy old man said well one guy was like but said Ella and then everyone laughs and they were fucking talking about me putting means crazy so I guess Pat Sarella is my Cinderella name And now I'm still in a bad mood and I'm so mad that I even let them put me in a bad mood so I'm trying to snap out of it but tell me a time where someone has like fucking made fun of you as an adult
When I was traveling with a friend in Central America we were we took a bus down to the border of Panama we were in Costa Rica and we wanted to cross the border but apparently you needed like a flight ticket booked from out of Panama when you entered and we didn't have that we had like a bus ticket and there was this lady who came up to us and like started approaching us and she was like being very rude in there.
Just in her way of approaching us and she would just not leave us alone. We were trying to figure out the situation. We needed to buy SIM cards for our phones in order to help the internet and see if we could book a flight. We were just trying to make sense of it all. And she was following us around like crazy. And at some point she was standing behind us and she was like, oh, chica, locas. And I was like, because I know a bit of Spanish, so I was like, fucking hell, now she's talking shit about us. but she had no idea who we were or what we were.
What we were trying to do, so yeah, we were a bit annoyed with her for doing that to us because we could have been two upstanding citizens, she wouldn't have known, but I think she'd just assumed that we were trying to do something illegal, like crossing the border or something, but yeah. We ended up not getting past the border, but then we realized that we actually had a flight out of Panama because we had a layover in there a few weeks after, so that was a bummer. Yeah, fun times.
Key for sharing that because I know it's not a personal thing but since I am alone like it gets to me and I don't know so many situations of happen like that like you're explaining to me in Italy and it's just so annoying to see the intolerance of people when you travel and obviously it's probably a small percentage of people but that's what affects me Yeah so thanks for making me feel human
Yeah, now I totally get that and it's definitely a lot harder to deal with when you're alone. Like if you're with a friend or traveling with someone, it's like a bit easier to just shake it off and you can like have that support in each other. But being alone, it definitely hits you harder. And yeah, and I think it's definitely a small percentage and I'm sure the majority of people are very happy to like see you travel there. But yeah, it's definitely a tough one.
I'm laughing you know that's interesting that there's always a holiday that Italy seems so chill you know like in America we're kind of talk to like put ourselves in burnout mode all the time I feel like Europe isn't like that like it's not as it's not as promoting burnout mode
From my experience I think you experience European love. That's how they show their like you. Yeah, it's the other way around but I think they love you.
