Excuse the vacuuming in the background everyone, but how does technology help you stay in touch? I'm trying to like I need to get better at you know reaching out to my family because I live so far away from them And I have ADHD so it's out of sight out of mind So yeah, how do you set reminders for yourself or like how do you use technology to stay in touch?
I was bedridden for a few years because of chronic illness and technology and like social media apps were like the only connection I had to the outside world and so I really used social media sites like Facebook and stuff to make friends during that time.
That is awesome and I understand kind of being bedridden and I had adrenal failure burn out and it was not good and I was super tired and it was like all I could do to get out of bed for like five minutes
Being social is so important for mental health and this right here Alexa this you having the tools to do that and make friends online Does my heart my heart exploded
As someone who lives abroad from my friends and family back home and has done for the last 12 years it is vital and has helped me stay close to everybody I love back home.
I'm from Norway, since living in the US and UK, and now, during COVID, I escaped to Greece. So I'm actually based in South Athens and I've been here for two and a half years. It's beautiful.
Technology helps me keep in touch and stay in touch by keeping up to date with what the people around me are up to Whether it's through Instagram or through Facebook So yeah and also as well hit so much
I've been having a real existential issue lately thinking that I'm coming to the realization that me sending a few heart emoji's once a month to like a saying a distant auntie is not connection so I got to figure it out
I completely agree that that isn't connection so yeah it's a balance of had it yet Staying in touch is made so easy with social media but we have to be able to be like OK how
And on the bright side I have a Besty that lives 2000 miles away and we are like we DEM I'm voice message all day every day so it's like she is still with me you know
Ash you are wise I just woke up don't mind my voice but I am a trained clinical hypnotherapist and I had a business thriving before Covid and I've been looking for a sign should I go online
I also was an actor for many years and I had a Bandan I've done many many things but when I wanted to have my own business that's what I decided to do so YouTube it is
So you see how kindness and compliment can really affect a person I truly have been looking for a sign and kind of a kick in the ass so thank you girlfriend
I agree as far as the face-to-face contact at So and I think was interesting though to as like in my experience it tends to be easier for people to get more vulnerable like through a screen
For the first like a couple of times that they're getting vulnerable with somebody and then they can carry that over into real life so I feel like if it's used as a tool it's beneficial you know what I mean
I'm not gonna lie, technology helps me stay in touch with my Discord eKidding because if it wasn't for technology, I wouldn't be able to say hi to her, love her, show love and affection and just be there for her.
I really like this question. Technology keeps our family in touch because two of my siblings live in different states and then my nephews are growing so we're able to see them get bigger by sending me photos and stuff.
I use signal for all my group chats with all my friends. So we always have different group chats for different people's birthdays and shit. So it makes it very easy for us all to stay connected.
