So continuing where I left off, so the in the first place technology begins or belongs to Folk Alt's distinctive vocabulary of social and political critique. It refers to the ways in which modern social and political systems control, supervise and manipulate populations as well as individuals. So what are the technologies of self that Folk Alt explores? The technologies of the self are the various operations that of our bodies, our souls, thoughts, conduct, and way of being that people make either by themselves or with the help of others in order to transform themselves to reach a state of happiness, purity, wisdom, perfection, and immortality. And I like using someone else's definitions because one of the default ways that our brains often work whenever a new thought is introduced that goes in and it does not align with our thought paradigms, meaning the ways that we have been being, thinking, doing. We subconsciously look for a way to discredit it. So if it was just me and I wasn't referencing someone else, then y'all would be like, oh, it's just some chick on stereo. And she doesn't know what she's talking about because what are her credentials? This is why, like in self-help books, 50% of those books are, this is what I've done, this is what's happened, this is my expertise, this is why she listened to me. And then like another quarter of that book is about how it's helped themselves and other people. And then the last quarter is actually the meat of the book, which is just, you know, whatever it is, the healing modality or whatever transformation they're trying to achieve. So just know that this is what I'm gonna be focusing on and that way whenever you're become aware you can choose to change things and I'll talk more about about it later.
