I found it really interesting that the older we get, the more aware of things we become, the more sensitive to things we become. I was at work today, and I was walking by, somebody was eating their lunch, and they had like this whole cake. And I stopped because it caught my eye, and I was like, man, is that a Sock-It-To-Me cake? The guy's like, yeah. I was like, man, that's crazy, my grandma used to make those a long time ago, and he offered me a piece. I was like, okay, I'm really cutting sweets out of my diet, but I don't want him to feel bad for making me sad or whatever, so I was like, I'll just get a piece. And the craziest thing is, for some reason, man, I ate that cake and just started tearing up. I just kind of like teared up a little bit all day. No matter how much time passes, when you truly love somebody and they were really special to you, you never really truly stop grieving, and it's just interesting how much joy I found from that little bit of cake and how that little bit of joy affected me. As old as I am to technically be crying over a piece of cake, but I'm just really still missing my grandma, man. Fuck cancer.
