Are you loyal to yourself? I feel like that's a really good question that we don't ask ourselves as often as we should. But are you as loyal to yourself as you are to those around you?
Yes, loyalty means that you stick to something. And I stick to my guns, as they say, even though I don't have any guns. And I'm not selfish, though. I know when to set aside my selfishness.
If you would have asked me a year and a half ago, I would tell you no. But now moving forward 2023 and on, I'm focused on doing me, focus on making shit happen and focus, focus, focus, focus.
No, I am not loyal to myself. I need to, but I'm so caught up trying to be loyal to everybody else but myself. So yes, well no, I'm not loyal to myself.
I think that I'm loyal to myself because I know my limits, I know when to back away from certain situations, I try and nourish myself mentally, emotionally, physically, and I think I'm doing pretty well so far.
So I've come to realize that I've been deeply committed to and supportive of a persona that I created in order to be loved, to feel like I would fit in and that ultimately I thought would help me get my needs met.
That being said, every individual day of the last 40 days, I have put more and more effort into learning how to recommit to myself, learning how to be loyal to my authentic self.
