All right y'all let's try to keep this as a safe place as possible we're not gonna judge anybody here we're just gonna throw out ideas OK I'm a single mom Michael he gets in trouble from time to time sometimes it's a little shit sometimes it's a big shit I'm just curious to know what are you guys do for discipline when you're in a situation and whether it's a small situation that just needs a little nip in the bud real quick or big situation where you're like damn I really gotta buckle down and handle this shit what are you guys doing you know what is what are your pro tips here and like I said it's a safe place we're not judging anybody what does tossing out ideas trying to help each other

OK so I don't know how I would like explain what I consider discipline but I am most definitely 100% a gentle parent I think just talking and explaining to them like what they did isn't right and showing them how to do it the right way is the best form of discipline

Oh completely 100% agree with this there's definitely better ways than putting your hands on your kids from like what other people have been saying on this app

Plus kids are very absorbent in the mind especially when they're babies toddlers whatever so definitely talking to them and showing them right and wrong is the correct way to go

I mean I really think it depends on age like my five-year-old son if he doesn't give me back his iPad I'll typically just go light with hitting him in the head with a sticker couple times with my teenager act up I like to typically either the coat one of his fingers off or hanging them when I treat until he passes out and then put him back out and then go

I am a stay at home mom of three and with my first my daughter I totally did the whole gentle parenting thing she is like the sweetest little person ever but my two boys they are wild totally

My boys are wild. They like to wrestle a lot, so they'll be jumping off my couches like they're in a WWE wrestling match. And I tried the whole gentle parenting thing with them, but it doesn't work. Sometimes I have to get really loud with them in order.

In order for them to hear me, I have to get really loud with them, but usually that'll get them to settle down.

It's most definitely trial and error because one thing might work for one kid but not work for the other kids so it's definitely a balance of trying to figure out what works best for you and your children

So with our daughter my partner will lightly tap them on the bomb and I can only get pretty mad about that so he has been kind of like stopping doing that and what we've been doing is putting her until like a timeout chair

And my daughter is too so yeah we put her in like a timeout chair I just put a timer for about two minutes we're starting on for two minutes can we just start doing this before then I would honestly just walk away I'd like let us know her tantrum now just go upstairs and just let her do her thing and then come back

And then I come back down and I was ready to college calm herself down and yeah especially because my daughter has been hitting on speaker lately which is not OK with me but you have timeout times

I'm gonna lie I hit my I hit my eye hit my daughter she's about four years old I don't punch her in her face because you know that's wrong but sometimes I like to give her a nice gut check to the side with my right arm and then if she still acting up I give her the left

He's actually with you agree with that already because one time my all my son seven birthday yeah she's actually getting a little too rowdy how do you say disciplinary action I see I had to do a fly me to the left look at me then collapsed and I passed out but I woke up everything was good

No, that wouldn't work. She doesn't have toys. I really appreciate it, but I think taking away the food would be better for her in the long run. and I hear that people can live for multiple weeks without food. I'll give her water, of course.

Yeah I don't know man I hit my daughter I think it's pretty cool in fact when she tries to hit back and I slip and give her a two piece to the mouth but it's OK the no food thing didn't work so I got a rethink my strategy

Honestly I think it depends mostly on the age when they're younger I'll talk to them but if you're older like an older child like cutting up in the store and you're like eight years old and nine years old and I get no fucking spanking I get if I can ask but yeah

It's all trial and error so I don't have any pro tips or anything but what my oldest daughter does to my younger sister she always hits her for no reason and then she'll laugh about it and not like that that dick takes me off so I don't like it or nothing but I just tell her and then I get her like the mom face

And then I tell her that I'm gonna remove her if she doesn't stop and if she keeps doing it then I'll take her to the other room And I'll leave her by herself for like a minute or two and wait till she calms down because then that's when she goes like apeshit she goes crazy.

Usually within like a few minutes social calm down and I'll try to talk to her and I'll let you know I'll tell her that you know she can't be doing that but it gives her sister like an are we in all that try to make her understand and then usually she's OK if I give her like a kiss by the end of it
