Hey, guys. Thanks for listening. It's your girl, Faith. I just have a question. Does your mindset change everything? Does your mindset determine the type of day you're going to have?

Because I've been told that it's good to have a positive mindset, which is what I usually lead by, but in many instances I find that having a positive mindset could also lead to delusion and misleading yourself.

This topic requires more than 15 seconds of audio, so here we go. I don't think it's about having a positive mindset. It's more about perspective.

I feel like a positive mindset and viewing something in a positive perspective are two different things because as for a positive mindset, you're forcing yourself to be in a positive state.

versus you viewing it from a positive perspective. So you can wake up with a positive mindset for yourself, but when real life situations occur, that's when you use your positive perspective.

And I don't believe having a positive mindset eventually creates delusion because that's where our reality resides is in within the mind and when you believe you create.

I agree with Kimberly on certain things such as your mindset affects you personally but has no effect on the environment.

As she said, you could wake up happy and motivated, but then something in your environment could happen to you throughout the day. Negative.

Now, this last thing you said is true. What you believe you create. And so in a way that is mindset. But if we replace mindset with perception, then from

From there, we can then say, does our perception kind of paint the landscape and environment as we see it?

Irrespective of what happens in that environment. I'll give an example.

I've been going through very tough times, but myself as a person, my default mindset, if you will, is waking up motivated. That's just who I am.

Well, I believe you already lead by a positive mindset as you've already mentioned. So I think mindset plays a positive role, because you might have also experienced that when you are in a positive frame of mind, you feel better.

As far as being delusional is concerned, I believe when the positive mindset doesn't get you results that you are looking for, then you feel as if you're being delusional. So you have to...

So you're after a particular result and I believe that you shouldn't be after a result. You should just be savouring the feeling of being positive and enjoying your work.

because I believe if you can do that then the results will get attracted towards you automatically maybe you'll attract something even better that you might not have been thought of or planned off so

That's my take on this. It's very superficial. This question can go real deep because it's a good question and I've just tried to answer it like superficially.

I think it really does faith. I think where focus goes energy flows. It's not as easy as just saying that. It has to be worked at. Your mind is sort of like a muscle. The more you work it the stronger it becomes.

Absolutely. You have to... Oh my god, this is like... I can speak for hours about this. When you wake up and think about a really positive day, positive things will come across you.

You know, it's easier to be negative, but it's way like super hard to be like to stay positive and when you actually like change your mindset into believing that you're positive and everything's gonna work out, it's gonna work out.

I forgot who said this, but it really struck me. It's when they said that, you know, like, it's so obvious that, you know, like, you're the one who controls your brain and the brain doesn't control you. So definitely mindset changes.

It can if you're not willing to change it to be honest like if you're ready to be like that ambitious person you are and do something about it then that's a cool thing to be doing it's just like be your own person

No, and here's why. Have you ever had that moment where everything's going great in your life but you're still sad? And you don't know why, you have no reason but you're still sad.

I think it's so important that us as a society stop putting this band-aid over people and their emotions saying oh you just have to look at the bright side, change your mindset because let's be honest sometimes bad things just happen and we have to understand this.

In my opinion, it's incredibly toxic to constantly, even in the most horrible, disgusting situations, to be like, well, I have to look at the bright side, haha, let's be happy. No, sometimes there's a time to grieve, there's a time to be sad.

Life is about balance. So sometimes your mindset is going to be positive, sometimes it's going to be negative. And that is okay. We need to start telling ourselves and normalize the idea that hey there are good days and there are bad days and we need to understand.

And this idea that your mindset changes everything is honestly really toxic, especially for people who suffer from personality disorders or depression or anxiety or PTSD because you're telling them hey you just have to be positive.

So no, your mindset does not change everything. Sometimes you need a little bit of help, whether that's therapy or medication or just you know being self-aware, but there is a time and place for everything, including being sad.

Hello, it's your queer boy Keen Alcaraz, your very gay godmother. And Faith, I honestly am a practitioner of mindsets, and I believe that it does. I believe that it takes energy.

It takes energy to recreate new energy. Obviously the first couple rounds are going to be challenging, but it's all about learning how to alchemize energy. It's something that I recently have come to light with and I continue to practice on my daily life.

It can definitely help with things, but I feel like you're just human if you're constantly tackling hardship throughout the day and you feel terrible.
