Honestly, it's just like with any family member who dies because animals can get that close. They really can. Just give yourself time, understanding, do little things that you enjoy in your life, eat good food.

The process of grieving takes time, so my advice for you is just take it a step at a time. Because I know the memories will be flooding in and you'll start to tear up. But think about the good times you've had.
