It could be that the person speaking to the bird scared the bird, and the bird is doing a defense mechanism, essentially, to act dead. This happens in nature. Birds prey like squirrels and shit, you know? They act dead when they perceive a threat. So I think the timing is just ironic, but I think the bird is going in defense mode.

I think the bird is going in defense mode naturally because it perceives a threat. So it's attempting to preserve its life because what predator would want to mess with an animal that just dies right there? It kind of takes the fun away from the predator to catch the prey because, you know, in nature the predator hunts the prey, right? If you take the hunting away, then what?
