Hey Twangy, excellent question. I can definitely see this as a hot topic as you've put it. Thank you for also putting in 18+, that way this is a safe space and for adults. So, personally for me, I actually do not enjoy or give myself pleasure during my period.

The reason for me is during my period it is a time for cleansing and healing that my body does and I use that time as a sacred time to allow my body to heal itself, to reset itself for the ovulation period coming up after the period is over, and I just really take care of myself in the best way I can while I am on my period.

And what I mean by that is I allow myself to have a break from stress in life as much as possible. I use this time to take more naps, to have more fruit, to drink more water, to consume red meat considering that blood has iron in it and it's leaking out of my body at that time so I do consume red meat to replace the iron and just keep my about my body balanced.

There have been studies done on women utilizing masturbation or sex when they are on their period to help them manage their pain. For me personally, after having children, I don't have painful periods that often anymore, thank God, because before it was debilitating to deal with before I had kids. So, I don't have that.

So, I don't have to go to any kind of pain intervention, such as masturbation generally, to deal with my period pain. There are occasions when I do spend that time with myself during my period when I am in a lot of pain, however, it's not common for me. But shout out to anyone that does or doesn't.

I will say this even though I don't opt to have period sex or you know even just self-masturbation doesn't mean that I don't think that there are benefits to it and there are benefits to and I actually know people that utilize this method to help manage pain and hormone regulation and everything I just choose personally not to for me and that's that's what that's what works for me you know

I am also currently celibate by choice for about two and a half, almost three years. And so I don't have someone having sex with me. The only person that I'm intimate with is myself in this regard. And, you know, I have an ebb and flow that works for me. And, you know, that's just my rhythm that I've found, you know.
