So if you feel comfortable definitely share your story but if not you can also just hit yes or no I'm just curious of how many moms out there have experienced postpartum depression and anxiety rage or psychosis me personally I struggled a lot with postpartum anxiety and I still kind of do although it's so much better but I didn't even really realize that I was struggling with it at the time like in the newborn phase I thought that I was fine because I wasn't depressed I was like the happiest I've ever been in my whole life and the only thing that I really need to look for was you know postpartum depression it's the only thing that's really talked about which I'm very glad that it is but I don't think we talk about the other postpartum issues that mom's gonna have like anxiety or rage or psychosis I think that there still needs to be some more awareness about those so I'm just curious if you experienced any Any of them

I have postpartum rage and I didn't discover it until like a week ago when I shattered the dustpan. That's my baby.

Yeah I definitely agree with you that the other areas of postpartum just aren't talked about enough because I didn't really understand what I was going through at the time when I was going through it with my daughter and so I've never got like

Diagnose properly so I was just kind of going through it and not knowing what was going on and I just kind of thought that was gonna be my new normal but I struggled a lot with postpartum anxiety postpartum depression and postpartum like OCD and postpartum rage

My son is now two and so that's the last time I had a child, but I still struggle a little bit with postpartum anxiety, but I am a lot better now. It's pretty much all gone, but I still have my moments where I'm like, oh my god.

And I think along with how it's not talked about enough, I think that it's also not talked about how like It can show up later on like it doesn't just show up right away It shows up later on because with my son it didn't show up for about eight months.

That is so interesting. I definitely have heard that it doesn't necessarily happen right away. It's just so crazy to me how different everyone's bodies are and I just wonder why it affects some people more than others.

For me, I experienced all of it like pretty much right away, so I can't even imagine just being hit with it all of a sudden when they're like nine months old and just being like, why am I feeling like this now?

I had PPD really bad with my second, like I was just in a rut and it was in the middle of COVID. It was June 2020 and it was just a really rough time and I felt bad about my body and it was rough.

I am so sorry you experienced that. Ugh, I can't even imagine having a baby right at the peak of COVID. Like, oh my gosh, I probably would have been going crazy.

I experienced it and I am curious as to how long it lasts because I've asked myself like can it happen years afterward you know what I mean? like with

Raging hormones, the load of responsibility, etc. Not feeling well, all of that stuff, yeah. And I'm just... It needs to be talked about, it really does.

I'm not really sure, but I definitely know that you don't necessarily have to have it right away and that you can definitely experience it later on, so I don't know if it's just something that we are susceptible to forever or what, but...

I just know that the hormones and all that can really throw some people's bodies out of whack and I don't know why it happens to some and not others or why it happens sooner or later. It's just, it's really crazy.

I've always been an anxious person but I've definitely experienced postpartum anxiety for sure, mostly related towards like health things and then once the pandemic hit it just got so much worse.

I'm the same way. I always have struggled with anxiety. When I was younger it was more like social anxiety, but I've always struggled with some type of anxiety and definitely, definitely deal with the health stuff too.

COVID and the pandemic and all of that was definitely a huge trigger for me too, so I totally understand and I'm really sorry that you experienced it too. Big hugs.

Just anything related to health or sickness has really been a huge anxiety provoking thing for me for sure.

I suffered from postpartum anxiety pretty bad from the time my son was born until six months to even a year and I ended up seeking therapy and that helped a lot.

If you don't mind sharing, I'm just curious, at what point did you feel the need to seek out therapy? What made you think that that would help you or made you realize that you might need that?

I did struggle with postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety in the beginning. It did eventually go away, but I mean I'm so glad it did.

I'm so glad that yours went away. It's so hard to go through that and yeah, I still struggle a little bit but mine's definitely gotten a lot better too so I'm also so glad.

Isn't it crazy once you're like out of that fog and out of those feelings and you look back at that time? Ugh, and you just remember how you were feeling and everything is like a blur. It's just so crazy.

Yeah, so I did struggle with postpartum depression as well as postpartum anxiety, especially after having a recent miscarriage. Prior to getting pregnant, I would be constantly worrying about my son and what was happening. So yes, I definitely did struggle with postpartum depression.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure that that made the anxiety so much more. I know when I was pregnant, it was a high risk pregnancy and I had a threatened miscarriage, so it definitely made my anxiety a lot worse too.
