No in all seriousness I am let me answer your question stereotypes are generalizations they're over simplifications and generalizations are they healthy no but let me give a little bit of new

So stereotypes are not healthy and I would say we should avoid stereotypes but it's interesting because from a psychological perspective they actually are somewhat useful if they were not useful we wouldn't have stereotypes let me explain more

So we all have stereotypes about and people certain religions are people with certain countries or people of certain careers and those stereotypes help to give us a mental model of what that person does or an attitude that they might

So when you meet somebody new and you're know that you know that they're from a particular country that mental model gives you a framework to hang your conversation on the danger comes in when you when you make a strong assumption that they must be that way

So statistically speaking if you know some thing about somebody like they're from some country or they're part of some groups statistically they may be more likely to embrace a certain type of behavior or attitude and that's just the reality of the situation

But to put somebody into that box and say they must embrace this attitude or they they've got to act this way because more people in their group are more likely to act that way is wrong

So stereotypes can be useful but we should never assume that even if a stereotype actually is statistically more likely that it is true for any individual within the group and that can be dangerous

And then a final far is I would just say some stereotypes are flat out untrue that it is actually statistically not likely for a group to embrace a certain attitude and we have to be extra careful about those stereotypes because they're wrong

I don't know why this is so, you know, such a negative thing, why it's such a negative thing. If you're in danger and you need help, you want to look for a policeman. If you're sick and you need care, you want to look for someone that's wearing a nurse's or doctor's uniform. We use these things to identify and to help us to best find the things that we need and the types of people that we need all the time. Now, can people be more than that? Absolutely, but it's a great start.
