I know this was pretty divisive apparently when it came out. I kind of thought most of the device and this was kind of made up. Like even the people that didn't like it didn't hate it, you know? But to me what really was going to make this make or break to me was how it looked. Did it was it going to look good? And I had absolutely no hope that Amazon of all people was going to make this shit look good like the original ones. Like I don't even like the hobbit and it looked fucking gorgeous. the combination of practical and CGI was just seamless I thought. And there were a couple things that didn't look fantastic, but I mean overall just oh my gosh the scale of it and they fucking accomplished it. It felt like a Lord of the Rings movie and I really couldn't have given a shit about the plot as much. The plot was pretty good I thought it was engaging but it really really came down to the look for me so I enjoyed it but interested to hear what others think about it.
