You know the thing is though like a lot of times unstructured aimless kind of conversation if it's entertaining enough and the people are quick witted and it's compacted it can feel like a podcast

Yeah, I mean, that's true. That's true. I think sometimes the problem, or an issue, it's not a problem, but can be just rambling conversations. And I take part in these, right, where it goes on three, four hours. Nobody's going to listen to that after the fact, right? So in a perfect world, I think 50 minutes, 50 minute shows. I used to like it when stereo would enable us to schedule in advance, and it would automatically switch over.

Yeah, that's a very good point. I think that's the best way to go at something. Have a topic that you're going to dive into and have some bullet points that you want to cover and then open it up. But don't just be meandering talking about everything. And here I am saying this when last night I had the four and a half hour conversation on stereo about literally everything.

Yeah, I agree. If the hosts have a wide breadth of knowledge, and they're quick-witted, then they can quickly shift gears and cover all kinds of ground. I do think it's good to start with a topic. And one structure that I like is to do an hour-long show on a topic. And then if it's radically shifting, or if you've beat that dead horse, I think it's a good

You know, I think that's the ideal format, for me at least, an hour on a topic and then if you start running out of things to talk about on that topic, start a new show. I really liked when Stereo let you pre-plan shows and that it would take you to automatically switch from one to the other when the time came. I thought that was a great feature, but they did away with it.

I agree. I don't want scripted, but I think if people would just take a moment to organize their thoughts, have a topic and a few bullet points and a general outline, I think it would make it much more entertaining to listen to. A lot of people just go on stereo like they're talking on the phone to a friend with no topic or no structure at all. Those talks I find boring.

Oh, I totally agree, like spontaneous spontaneity, you know, there's magic there, right? And some people that I've had good chemistry with and that are pretty, you know, have a diverse array of knowledge and stuff, we could just riff on stuff. I do think it's good to start with a topic and have an outline though, like you said previously.

But as I was saying I don't do that many shows I do a lot more Oreos participation and people timing is everything I go to work at 2 AM so if you want to shower with me Friday Saturday and Sundays OK by Monday night I'm in bed by eight

But back to the topic seriously I would rather have something that's improved every once in a while or something that is probably a topic that I can talk about anyway I'm done leaving a message for you another thing I'm going to bed

Thank you, Sis Research. Yeah, I think shows work best when there's a topic, a rough outline of what you want to cover, maybe a few bullet points, and then kind of open it up to conversation and see where the audience takes it. I think a lot of these talks on stereo, though, they just kind of meander and don't really have a point or a topic.
