From a Christian point of view, you're born with this in nature until you're baptized, born again and believe in Jesus. That's what I believe.

Yes, pride comes before the fall and it is from the enemy because humility is the essence of being a believer. When you're prideful, you don't submit and you think that you know better. So yeah, definitely pride is not from God.

So pride comes from a place of insecurity. You want to be acknowledged for your accolades or your achievements to make yourself appear to be a better person or a good person. In reality, that's far from the truth.

Here's an example. I could be the greatest baseball player of all time with the most consecutive home runs ever hit But I could still be an alcoholic. I could still be abusive. I could still be a murderer I could still be a rapist. I could still lie.

Pride comes with a great deception that you are better than a lot of people because you accomplish more than them when that's far from the truth.
