How important is it to get to know your partner's hobbies and how much effort do you show towards being active and involved and interested in them? How far would you go?

I think it's pretty important to know your partner's hobbies because if you don't and you always like to exclude it, it's going to seem kind of weird that you're never involved in any of the stuff that they find fun or interesting.
