In the grand scheme of glitches, this is a little on the mundane side. Not long ago, I got a CRT VCR combo to watch old tapes. My mother heard and asked me to bring it over so she and my dad could watch their old wedding tape. I take it over and we pop it in. It was very cute and wholesome, but one thing that threw us off was that my mother was speaking with a noticeably southern accent. My mom was not born in the south, nor she has ever been to the south. She has lived in California her entire life. Hell, she was the one that brought it up first. We were maybe a minute into the video and I had hit pause. We thought maybe she was joking at the time and making a silly voice, but no, it continued the entire tape for the whole wedding itself and maybe a little bit post the wedding while they were hanging out. She called my grandmother and asked if she had ever spoken with an accent. My grandmother responded, no, why would you? Which I mean is a fair question and it's a weird question to ask. My dad thinks it's hilarious because he has zero recollection of her ever speaking with an accent.
