so John wrote to us, so we could understand him directly but we're supposed to go to a middleman for him to tell us what John meant as if John was hard to understand

John did not write to us. John wrote to his disciples, the seven churches of age of minor. And then just like Paul's epistles were wrote to other people in other churches, they weren't written to the lady. They're written to the clergy of these churches. That's how we have these writings because they were kept in these churches that they wrote to. John's writing specifically, you think John's writing only confuses if you've not read Revelations. especially with your canon and your missing books that Revelation quotes symbology and typology from.

And so the other thing you are presupposing was that we would know what the scripture is, right. Specifically what John wrote without Ignatius, or like Polycarp which we wouldn't because we know who wrote the scriptures through Irenaeus, who was a disciple of Polycarp. Without Ignatius and Polycarp we wouldn't know for sure who the authors of the Gospels were, right, or of John's writing. You also have this problem if you want to throw Ignatius and Polycarp under the bus.
