The WGA is officially on strike and I fully support it if you're not familiar with the WGA you will be now and you experience everything the WGA does every single thing of your life it's because of the WGA that you have always TV shows and movies it is the writers Guild of America there is the east and west sections of the WGA and both are on strike because both of the same contract they are the same union and Basically you guys are going to be watching reruns for a while if the studios continue to be a holes Basically the writers are just negotiating to have fair wages because their wages have not gone up there also wanting to not be treated his gig workers cause that's what the studio try to do well if you get here just getting work risk and pay for one episode when I get staph you it's like the whole thing is yeah oh then there's the AI thing because they want to like get into the AI and replace all the screen writers that's another issue and the other issue is residuals or royalties for streaming platforms I love you probably don't know this but a writers only received their residuals from TV stations that you watch through you know cable but not on streaming platforms so every time somebody watches that show or it's aired They're not getting paid if it's on a streaming platform so every time we watch some thing they're not getting paid for that when they should be because if we were watching it on demand on cable or just the regular cable broadcasting they were getting paid the residuals so that is another thing that they are fighting for so I hope they win
I didn't even know the WGA went on strike. I know they were about to go into like negotiating and think they actually went on full strike That's good to know and kind of sad Yeah, I really hope they prevail I'm just kind of curious to see how long they actually End up going on strike for and if they actually gonna get better benefits in the end but I guess time will only tell right
Oh man that's kind of a big bummer for them I didn't realize they didn't get the residuals from streaming platforms that's rough because pretty much everything's a streaming platform nowadays if it's rare to run into somebody's using cable so that means those guys are getting here that's that's rough
