A reason for why I won't answer the door is if you just turn up unannounced and I do not care if you've driven far or wherever you've come from. If you just turn up unannounced, it will mean that I won't have to stop whatever I'm doing no matter how important it is because you're now in the house or because you've driven far. Book a hotel.

I primarily answer doors of people I'm expecting to come to my home, meaning that we've established an appointment or for them to come over and hang out in advance.
