So one of my really good friends is actually waiting to get proposed to and she is really hoping that he doesn't change his mind about marriage because she was telling me that she's not a forever girlfriend and if he changes his mind about marriage she's leaving. So I want to ask you guys would you leave if the person you're with doesn't want to get married or would you stick around and try to make it work in a long term type of way? Let me know.
So check it. I'm okay with the person I'm with not wanting to be official in the eyes of the United States of America. You know, going to the courthouse, following your paperwork and boom, you are married and all of that. I'm cool with that not being a thing. But I'm gonna have to get some kind of commitment ceremony. We're gonna have to have some kind of ceremony. Some kind. And the person I'm with doesn't want any kind of that. then I mean we can't be together.
and what i'm getting at is a ceremony is such a ritual it's a fucking ritual so if you are uncomfortable with having a ritual to present your commitment to me then um you ain't serious brusky and i ain't serious so yeah a very long-term relationship we're gonna have to have some some kind of ceremony. period.
I have to say that in America, marriage is not a good thing. Not a good thing like in America, because everybody is divorcing and it's become a fear of wanting to marry somebody because you never know when you're going to get divorced. I think it's just the fear of being divorced. That's how makeup just portrayed.
That's something I would want to do but it's like, I don't know if I would leave them with the connections there and if it's good and things were fine. I don't know if it would be like I really need to get married and just leave them just because of that. like that's not the only ultimate
Why does she want to get married so bad is it because she's on a time clock with you know having kids or is it because she wants a deeper commitment I would start with those kind of questions
Yeah, and I can answer that without giving away too much of her personal detail, but basically it's what you said, like she wants a deeper commitment because she wants to be around him forever. And in her eyes, it's like, okay, well, if you want me around forever, marry me because I'm not gonna wait around until you really show up type of thing. But I mean, to each their own, I do understand where she's coming from but you can't just force that to happen, you know?
Imagine their nexa can having the power to pull the plug. You know what I'm saying? Imagine not having that power because you're not a wife or a husband. And you're like, no, I don't want to pull the plug. And then like, y'all not married, so you don't have the right way to say yay or nay. and then a family member has more power than you.
Or like, and then like imagine after they pass away, them putting, them, the family putting you in a bitchy way as the special friend, you know? That's like so uncomfortable. Knowing that you and that person shared like years or decades together and they can't put you in the bitchy way as the wife or whatever, you know what I'm saying? That would hurt.
Yes if you want to get married in the person you're with does not wanna get married then your long-term plans don't align and one of you was going to have to give something up in order to be in a relationship and that is not something you should be doing to be in a relationship
Marriage doesn't always mean that you have you have stopped loving the person just because you don't want to marry. It's just like it's an extra or like a two-step verification, verification. But just because somebody does not want to marry doesn't mean it does not mean they don't love you. I think it's something they themselves don't want to add up at the moment.
I'm definitely stick around trying to make it work in a long-term I mean it's it's a weird one because like marriage or something that sort of feels a deal in like if you're not really there for forever then what are you there for
