Do you know more than one language and if you do would you teach your kids that language as well so my partner and I both know Spanish and English so we're trying to kind of like teach our kids Spanish and English at the same time it's not as difficult as I thought it would be a lot of people say that it would be like confusing to them and that they would have difficulty like speaking like it would cause like a speech delay and stuff and so far we have not had that issue they understand or at least my oldest understands both languages fairly well And again it's just like basic words and then she knows how to count and stuff in Spanish so yeah what are your tips on teaching your kids both languages if you have any and yeah what are you what would you do
I know I am Poquito Espanol and I really should learn more because my husband's family speak Spanish and I'm trying to teach my son so we're trying to learn together but it's really hard to like relearn as a nut
Honestly I lost a lot of my Spanish growing up so I totally feel you I'm kind of re-learning like sentences and stuff like formally speaking in Spanish with my toddler so that's helping me a lot so if you're able to do that go ahead and do that you will learn so much
I do but I wouldn't say I am fluent so I speak Spanish and I do try to teach my son some words which she knows may be a good about maybe five but nothing crazy yet
I'm really not super fluent either. I understand it really well, but it's hard for me to like formulate a sentence like formally talking to somebody. Like my boyfriend's family speaks mainly Spanish and I can like try to hold a conversation but it doesn't come out right all the time.
Yeah I know for sure I get that and then you know Spanish technically was considered my first language because I grew up around my grandparents and they only spoke Spanish but I don't know it just kind of slips away so I mean hopefully we get to put them in a class we're here
That's so good to learn what you know. And then like there's also like, I know there's like free apps and stuff that'll help you like learn sentences and stuff or even like shows and podcasts that speak Spanish. so if you're able to learn with your kid, I feel like that's the best opportunity to learn Spanish or even another language.
It honestly really helps to have a super fluent Spanish speaker talk to my kids, like my parents. I'm not really fluent in Spanish. I lost a lot of my Spanish growing up, but I'm kind of like learning it back with them if that makes sense, which helps.
I speak Spanish and English I do plan to like make them speak Spanish like suddenly as well but it's been hard since if I have to go to work let's speak English take care of them so right now like they mainly know English
I feel like if I knew in Spanish a lot more fluently and like I can talk it super easily I wouldn't really talk to my kids in Spanish I do both right now because again I'm not super fluent but I know like like they will catch on like they subconsciously will talk to you in
They will talk to you in Spanish kind of automatically and everywhere else I'll just speak English I'll tell my boyfriend pretty much grew up he didn't know like a ton of Spanish growing up but because of the mom mainly knew Spanish once he got to school he just spoke English and I can't even realize it but once he got home he would just automatically switch
Yes, my first language was Spanish and I know both Spanish and English and I do speak to my son in Spanish as well so I do speak to him in both languages.
Como estas? That's pretty much all I remember. I did two years of Spanish and that's what I remember. I did like a couple like class words of German in fourth grade and I remember that so much more.
um Guten Tag, that's German for hello. um but I know more in German than I do Spanish and my kiddos kind of learned sign language. I taught myself like right when they needed it but other than that if they want
They can and I'm totally game for teaching them any kind of language because it'll only help them, but I'm also not like diving deep into like having them know several different languages.
Well definitely it gives you up additional knowledge about the world about the culture of that language so you need to provide them with all your cultural values as well so language is important
