I'm gonna start a series called Fun Times with Toddlers and this is 100% sarcastic with the Fun Times with Toddler part, but Just realistic moments of having a toddler. So I'm gonna start with what happened yesterday My husband woke me up. Well not woke me up. He told me get out of bed and go look down the hallway It was like 6 30 So I get out of bed go look down the hallway And I see a bowl on one side of the baby gate and a stool on the other side as I'm getting closer to the baby gate I hear noise that sounds like an iPad coming from my son's room my son's for I should add So I open up his room and my kid is chilling on his bed with his iPad and I'm like hey bud How'd you get that he told me he grabbed the bowl? Use the bowl to climb over the baby gate grab the stool push the stool over the counter to grab his iPad grabbed the same stool, pushed that stool back over to the baby gate and climbed up on the stool back over the baby gate and went into his room to watch his iPad. He was very very proud of himself and this morning I heard what sounded like he was putting something down in the hallway which he typically does in the morning because he likes to collect stuff and he likes to bring all his collections out at night or in the morning so it's fun but I caught him with one leg over the baby gate, he was stuck. He was trying to get the iPad again. So there There you go, fun times with my toddlers.
I feel like for four years old that is such a clever plan my son is only three and I can't even think of what he can come up with like you know the ideas that could come in his brain so I think that is just so funny that he was able to come up with that like where did the bully man come from you know like he had to think of it
Like it's just so funny to think that his brain was like you know what I can step on this board to get over to things and then I'll get my iPad and I'll safely go back in my room and just hang out
Oh, the things I was not prepared for was like toddler hood. He knew how to unlock doors before he was too. He knew he knows how to unlock all the locks on our front and back doors so he can get out, which is terrifying because now he can get over the baby gate, which was what was keeping him safe from getting to the locks anyways. Um, so that's fun.
Second thing, he got the bowl because he likes collecting things and he likes to keep them in his room and I gave him a bowl so he could put all of his big Dinosaurs in it because he likes things to be organized and in containers So yeah, that's why he had the bowl and now the bowl is out of his room. So he lost that privilege.
This is honestly so hilarious the freaking picture has me cracking up I am so glad that you got a picture of that lake that is just iconic like you were going to be telling that story like at his wedding one day I promise you like oh my gosh you're gonna be embarrassing him at his high school graduation or something like that is such a good story he is honestly so smart for that and it's so funny like the links that kids will go to like to get their iPads like oh my gosh I want a smart kid though
He is very smart and it's terrifying because he's on the spectrum, but he almost has like this... He's way too smart. He's way too smart. He knew how to unlock doors before he was two and he knows how to get into the child locks. like he, no, you can't keep the kid out of anything. Like he figures out a way, no matter what.
and it is one million percent my husband. My husband is also on the spectrum and this is stuff that he used to do. He would take apart like everything in the house because he wanted to figure out how to put it all back together. He would unlock doors. He would do a lot of dangerous things because he didn't have a sense of like uh he didn't have a sense of danger and it's my son to a T. So I'm I'm like, oh great. But yeah, we'll definitely be telling the story for years.
Oh girl, I even have a video of him partially explaining what he did and I'm so mad that I tried to turn his iPad off because I didn't think my phone picked up his voice because it 100% did and it would have been hilarious if I didn't stop him midway through his story but I could probably try to get him to tell his story again because he is so, so proud himself.
That's crazy like that's so good like you know that that is going to help him later on in life so much like I love how people on the spectrum they always have some thing that they just like excel at like that like something that they're just so gifted in and like they're so smart and yeah but I'm sure as a mom that's like extra nerve-racking like my best friend is on the spectrum and I remember her parents talking about different things she would do and stuff and it makes parenting a little more harder so props to you but that is definitely funny and you should definitely try to help
Try to get him to tell the story again and I don't know I just really appreciate that you can laugh at things like that and you know don't get mad at him because some parents definitely would and I love that you're like you know making light of it or like being a little bit proud of it so
That is so funny I think she's congealed you get what they want is so funny being my honor and a half field Akshay climb on the gate and he was halfway over when I called him because mine was supposed to be sick and that and that he was so she having him in the in the living room and I heard the gay and I hope I'm throwing that he was on top of the game
So too, like our kids will do just not anything to get things that they want. And while I'm super excited that they are so determined, I'm not super excited that I'm the the one who has to deal with them being super determined. So, there's that.
Honestly, I would be proud of him too. Like that is super inventive and he succeeded with flying colors. So way to go bud that is really good job really good job using your mind. Love it.
100% I'm proud of him for problem-solving because he definitely problem-solved and got exactly like he and needed to get done but like can you not do it with semi-dangerous stuff that makes me concerned about like you being able to get out of the house a little bit more.
That's honestly so funny and sometimes just like you need to be mad because like you're in so impressed with what they did because you're like have a flag did you even manage any of that bro so that's pretty funny my toddler would totally do the same thing
