So I was having a discussion earlier with a friend and we were kind of talking about how like each job that we've had we carries that scale throughout our lives and it's kind of true at least for us like are used to be a CNA and nurses assistant for many years and a lot of the kind of like the skill sets that I use there I carry like communication skills like just like speech development I guess and how I talk to people I guess you can say like hospitality skills and then obviously like you know if if something were to look off on any of my kids or like a person you know I kind of recognize that for example there was a gentleman who had low on blood sugar and he was feeling dizzy and you can just kind of tell I just I know the signs to look for so it obviously ended up being that and I was able to help him out which was really cool and I also used to be a waitress so I mean this one's kind of random but I can carry like like we just saying like carrying the plates and the cups and all those things I kind of learned to still do that especially with my little ones it's just a lot more efficient you know going from the kitchen to whatever room I'm going to which is kind of awkward is it just like a weird skill to have but I just realized that I still use that So yeah what are some skills that you gained from your past like jobs or whatever and your experiences that you still use like on a daily basis

Ooh, I have so many of these. I used to be a teacher and now I homeschool my daughter, so there is a lot of overlap there. I could go on about that. But then I also was a paraprofessional in an autism classroom for a while, as well as

as well as a direct support professional for autistic individuals and now I have an autistic son. So I use a lot of the things I learned about routines and expectations and behaviors.

With my own son I also serve two days a week so I can relate to what you're saying about caring the dishes but also multitasking going along with that because I can handle a lot of people requesting a lot of things at once and not get over well

So that's a really helpful skill to have when you have multiple children.

Oh wow that actually sounds super interesting and so helpful especially when you have kids and yeah I actually didn't even think about that like being able to manage and remember multiple things at once definitely a good skill to have

That is a really good skill to learn. I might have to come back to you because I'm looking at getting a car eventually, possibly before the end of summer, but I'm starting to look now. And that would be amazing.

So I used to work in restaurants serve her bartender and I think the people skills from that like dealing with all types of people gave me both patients and just the perspective of dealing with some

My friends and I used to joke that like everyone should have to work in the hospitality industry to be like functioning members of society I think it helps me now because

No, I definitely agree with that. Everyone definitely should have some type of either fast food industry or some type of service industry where you have to deal with like customers on a daily basis. and I definitely learned patience from there and communication skills.

I think more than anything probably being resourceful and looking for solutions when there isn't someone there to help me so being proactive and resourceful

This is a really good one I only had two major jobs I worked at an ice cream store for eight years and now I make my own ice cream so that's a scale And social skills and added a job pressure

Copier le lien sur la publication
Oh yeah definitely that's a skill I wish I knew how to make like really good ice cream you could even like you know have like a little popsicle stand out and you know do that with your kids eventually one day I think I'd be pretty cold I could be like a side hustle that you guys can do as a family

Yeah, this is so true. I definitely agree with that. I used to have had various jobs and I would say that who I am today is due to all those jobs I have had in my personality and how I am about people and just

So I've had a few jobs where I'm working in customer service so like retail landscaping all that good stuff and yeah I definitely say that I learned skills that I have to carry on into real life.

And I also use a skills in my other job as well like always being genuine with people it's not about keeping a smile on your face necessarily it's just about being genuine with people and that goes for life to for sure
