She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which means God with us. I look at this scripture, and I think about how Jesus had the power to save. Jesus saved us. By becoming the sacrifice, the perfect sacrifice. In the Old Testament, sins were paid for through the blood of animals, but it only created like temporary effects. But Jesus knew so many things, and he made the choice to be a sacrifice. And it's like the power that Jesus had to be able to be the perfect sacrifice, to be sinless. Like, what does it even look like to be in a world and to only love, and to only be patient and kind? How connected to God do you have to be? Like, when demons saw Jesus in the Bible, like when you read the gospels, you see that demons ran, that they begged him to not, you know, cast them out. And the demons knew who Jesus was even before he died, even before he gave his life. Jesus has been him. He is him. Jesus is him. And I just think about the power Jesus has, because he draws near to the father. It's only through the father. Jesus gave up all the power that he had, the rights he had as God, and literally used only what we have, which is just relationship.
