Well, I would say the point of having a conversation is to understand what the other person is thinking. But if you and that person have two different things that you think that is right, then you guys are always going to have an argument on that topic.
I'd honestly prefer it, you know, to have a conversation with somebody who doesn't really see things the way I do because you can get a lot more information from the conversation than somebody who's just agreeable.
Yeah, so do I. I prefer it actually. The thing is, some people go into the argument expecting to change their mind or with the agenda of changing the other person's mind. If you don't go into it with that mentality but instead say, I'm going to learn something about their perspective and maybe they can learn something about mine, it's much better.
Hopefully you learned a little bit about the perspective and reasoning behind someone with an opposing view and hopefully they learned about your reasoning and view on the topic. Maybe you opened your mind up a little bit. Think about things differently. You didn't change your mind but you understand better and maybe you learned something along the way. Okay. No big deal.
