Guys my son is on such a bad schedule right now and I don't know how to fix it when I went back to work at the end of January we naturally fell into like a really good routine a really good schedule like a good rhythm and it worked really well and then all of a sudden a week or two ago we just got really off track and then daylight savings just made it even worse so ever since the time change we've been getting up at like 11 and that's like that that doesn't work for me because at 3 o'clock I gotta start getting ready for work so that leaves like 1112 1 to 3 like that's not enough time for me to get anything done on top of the fact that we're moving on Friday so I'm also trying to pack up and do all of that while dealing with a stage five Clinger baby He's also like his nap schedule is all messed up he used to take like I said a nap at exact same times every day 40 minute naps and now he just takes a random like 1 to 2 hour naps and like I I don't know we're just all out of whack I'm really tired of waking up and my day is like already halfway over I know that I need to just set an alarm and get my butt up but he's been going to sleep at like two or 3 AM so I am exhausted plus he wakes me up one you know once or twice a night I wake myself up once or twice a night I got a P whatever I have anxiety like I gotta make sure he's still breathing like I am Oh it's rough out here it's rough and I really miss I really miss the schedule we had where he slept from like 9 PM to 9 AM every day it was perfect at work great for us sometimes it would be like 10 to 10 and I was like OK with that but now like two or 3 AM till like 11 I Cantlay I can't I got to figure out how to fix it as leave any of your tips let me know any advice I don't know how we got here but I need to get out of here
Oh my god that is so hard I am so sorry for me it works really well is just keeping them up during the day at long longer. So like my oldest she usually wakes up at like seven 637 hour the time change
And then she'll stay up till about like one or two is when she'll finally have her like first nap. and I don't let it go past one or two p.m. because anything after that if she as a late nap, she will not sleep on time.
So yeah, she has her 2pm nap. Usually it doesn't last more than an hour. And then, yeah, I keep her up until about 7.30 is when we start getting ready for bed. She brushes her teeth, we put her pajamas on, and then usually by 8 o'clock she's in her crib. doesn't always fall asleep.
It still takes her probably about half an hour to actually fall asleep, but we got into a good routine that now her body is just used to it. It is going to take a couple days. Again, I'm really sorry that you're going through that. hard especially with the time change it like fucked us over too.
I definitely think that you're right and I thought that I responded to this yesterday but I guess I didn't but I did try like keeping him up longer like not letting him take his like third nap because I think maybe he's at the point where he doesn't really need his third nap.
Especially when he wakes up so late in the morning So for now, I think we're gonna skip the third nap and I just keep him up longer and then he did actually go to sleep closer to like 9.30.10 the first night that I did it.
But he still woke up at 10 which like I'm OK with that I know that's pretty late to some people but I do like to sleep in so if we can do like 10 to 10 I'm OK with that it's just waking up at 11 that's that's I don't like that one
I know a ton of people are against it, but I give my kids melatonin. The doctor said it's alright. It's a children's dose. It's only one milligram. They take a bath and we usually read a book then they're out by nine.
No yeah I agree with you we used to do that for my oldest step kids on school nights they would have a really hard time like settling down and going to sleep so we will give them the 1 mg as well but unfortunately my sons are only 10 months old so I can't do that with him yet
But I do believe in it I delete it it's OK as long as it's not every night and that they're still able to go to sleep without it I think it just helps them go to sleep faster and that was just what we used it for for middle school nights
Oh honey, our schedule is so off-wack too. It's not just you. I think this time change has literally screwed everybody over. We had the time change on top of molars coming in and it's been rough.
Yeah, this has been rough. Um, and also the cycles of the moon on top of that. There's a whole lot of things going on. Um... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
I don't know, I've been hearing a lot of people saying that we're entering into a new time as well. Like everything is crumbling down, there's a whole bunch of stuff. I don't want to get into that, but it just all has to do with our emotions and all this stuff. so baby can feel it big time.
