I believe that we're deep in the lack of understanding of communication right now and I'm scared about it but I try not to delta deep I got a let it go we're in the handbasket now baby
Oh, absolutely. I'm a content creator and I can't begin to tell you how many times in my industry this has talked about. And it's just becoming so crazy how disconnected we are, despite how connected our technology is with one another, you know?
We're so connected that we're disconnected and we don't even see that the connection is broken. it's kind of sad but I definitely like this format because it's worth the talk.
Yes, I'm telling y'all, I thought I was the only one that was noticing that shit. You know when you had like a little dinner and shit like that with friends and shit? We waiting on the food, why everybody on the phone? What the fuck am I out here with y'all on the NFO?
People act like they need their phones more than they need their next breath. And honestly, having your phone all the time makes it awkward more than just being awkward. You can grow out of that or you can phase out of that, but having your phone attached to your hand makes things really awkward for everyone.
I think it's already happened but social media definitely makes it worse. A lot of people now act really awkward in person or they miss out on a lot of social cues that I guess you don't really get to see over social media.
Martell, long time no chat. It's been almost a year since I've been on, but I'm so glad to hear your voice and you're absolutely right. Definitely a topic of discussion. Maybe we in his third of a show, I don't know. Up to you.
Yes it is because people have a false notion that they know how to talk to people and then when you get in front of them they talk to you like they're talking in text and that makes no sense.
I think it is. It's not social media. It's visual content, the tiktoks, the reels and shit like that. like that. People that don't have personalities don't have skills or communication.
I like that you got specific and I can definitely see how short form video content is definitely destroying communication skills. And even maybe some long format as well. We'll see you in the future.
absolutely and this has been something that's been going on for a while I felt like social media has really killed the art of really just building relationships with people it's so bad to the point I rather just pick up the phone and call and talk to you just so I can hear your voice because yeah
