Do you guys feel like it's okay to change the characters ethnicity for like a show or a movie? Yes or no? Or sometimes? Let me know your guys' thoughts. Personally, I think that it is okay sometimes, like if it's done right, but if they do it wrong and then it doesn't feel like the character anymore or it takes away from what made that character good then to me just feels like a waste.
Yes it's just a character people come in all shapes sizes colors complexions you name it I mean why box it into just one way right represent representation does matter so it is important you know
Yeah, for me it just depends like, I don't really care about all of that but for certain characters like, if I grew up watching them, then I'm used to seeing them like, certain way and sounding a certain way. And then when they switch it up, it's just like, oh no, it's weird.
Yeah, I feel you, but I feel like when they change a character too much, it just like, it ruins it, so... I don't know. I feel like if they're gonna change a character so much to where it gets to the point where it's like, not even the same fucking character anymore, it's just like someone with the same clothes and the same name, but completely different person, and they should have just like made into a whole different series or introduced that as a new character.
Sometimes because it depends like Like if the if the race or ethnicity isn't a real like or if the person in general is it like a real A real specific group of people then it's fine
Yeah, I guess it's fine, but like for Scooby-Doo, they turn him into a human in that new show that came out for a Dalma. And it's like, why even call him Scooby-Doo if it's a human? Scooby-Doo is supposed to be a dog. You could introduce that as a new character, but you don't have to say it about that Scooby-Doo.
Sometimes because if you change Tiana from princess and the frog to whites know that's kind of weird like that's wrong but if you like change someone like Ariel to like I don't know Mixed or like a person of color then that's fine I mean it just depends on the instance and when you're doing it
Yeah, it depends, but I was more talking about like Scooby-Doo, like when they made the term Scooby-Doo from a dog into a guy. In that new Scooby-Doo series? Or, well, I guess it's called Velma. That show about Velma on HBO, that's what I was referring to. I'll just use the original as an example. as everyone knows.
You know what though? Are you a white cis male or are you white? Just a white male? Regardless of your preference. Because no one asked you because why would a white male want it to be changed in the first place? But ask a little black girl, hey, wouldn't it be cool if the little mermaid looked like you, there is a point.
Am I miss cool I mean the main part movie and if you just change the race is cool the car like this for the bucks this is my knickers out there don't don't don't I like it is because you know he just doing it for publicity sick I will companies do that so you know it's cool but just don't call it more than that
There are so many other things in the world that I feel like are actual issues. Then people getting uptight and wound up over the little mermaid being a beautiful black goddess. Come on guys, get over yourselves. What year is it?
I mean movies for the longest time used to make people who were historically of another race and then they just put like some white guy as the guy like whether he's Asian or he's like Persian or even black or even like it doesn't matter like Hollywood has been doing that forever and these were like real people sometimes.
