A friend of mine is going through a breakup and she keeps talking about grief and she believes that grief is proportional to how much you love somebody. And I don't agree with that. I think you can have loved somebody truly and in good terms and not grieve that person so painfully and it could also be a toxic relationship and grieve that person due to all the emotional trauma that it caused. So yeah, what do you guys think about this? Is grief proportional to how much you love somebody or does it have nothing to do with it?

This is such a tough situation because I feel like just from what you had said you gave two great examples and I'm just gonna agree with you. I feel like it really does depend from case to case. So yeah, interesting take.
