All right I've got a good question for y'all today and I want to hear some debate OK what is the best shift to work morning evening or overnight let me know what you think I am very very curious and I hope this sparks a good conversation
Okay, so it can be, honestly it could be multiple different things. Like if you're wanting to keep your kids out of daycare, I think overnight's great. If you want to be somewhat sane, I think day shift is awesome. But it's honestly, like I don't know, I guess it depends on the situation and the dynamics. that will make or break any any type of position.
Definitely agree there's so many factors that go into it and definitely if you have kids that's like the biggest one life for me and my husband we work different schedules so that we don't have to do daycare or have a babysitter or anything like that so that's what works for us is like having different schedules but it stinks because we don't have the same days off or like the same sleep schedules or anything but it works it's worth it
I am with kids I want to say like a mid day I can do like an 8 to 4805 I'm definitely 724 with my like preferred before I had a kid But it now it's just too early to get them ready in the day
Yeah I think that a lot of people are gonna say that especially people who have kids like in public school because you know just working while they're in school be able to pick them up when you're done being able to drop them off before you go in like that just works out late you know too well it's literally like childcare built-in and you don't have to worry about childcare because by the time you're off work you're just picking them up so I think if all my kids were in school that's definitely what I would wanna do as well
I definitely feel like evenings probably are good. By that time, you know, your kiddo is kind of calming down from the day, getting ready for bed. So by the time you get home, they're probably already asleep. so you can still have an hour or two before you have to go to bed yourself.
Oh that's true I like that perspective that something different yeah you definitely would have time for yourself when you got home instead of like getting home and just being like go go go still because you're still like you just go from work mode to mom mode so that doesn't make sense like I've never thought about having like that chance to like have a little breather
For me it would be evening because my daughter doesn't sleep at night so I would never get any sleep working a morning shift and overnight it would be hard to find babysitters so definitely evening shift.
Yeah that definitely makes sense I totally understand that we like alternate so that we don't have to worry about babysitter so my husband works overnights and I work evening and then we have like the days together kind of you know my husband usually sleeping for at least some of it but yeah that's how we can do it without you know having to worry about babysitters or whatever
Best shift to work I want to say is morning from 5 to Maybe like 12 31 p.m. At least based off my schedule I think that's the best because you get that out of the way and then after that you can focus on your kids Cooking cleaning doing whatever you want going out so it's better to get things done in the morning and then have the rest of the day.
Yes the schedule that I was always on it for the longest time was 5 to 2 and I really wish that it was like 5 to 1 but 5 to 2 was pretty good and I agree that like 5 to 12 or one would've been perfect the only thing obviously is like if your kids are in school then you wouldn't be able to take them to school but yeah I agree I think that's great
I think for me would either be morning or night I'm Carlina oh I work from home so so I don't I usually do mornings or whenever I get a time to be honest because it's a very So I do GC Contin so it's very strong my schedule and most the time it varies on my son schedule so yeah
I personally think they shifts the best always because you can just live a normal life still but depending on when you need overnights always good option two I personally do a weekend shift which is not normal for most people I do 12 hour shifts Friday Saturday Sunday and that's my work week and I went for it for the world is yes Just heard it
So I've definitely worked morning and evening shifts I don't even work midnight shifts and I will say that I would prefer a morning shift I have ADHD and I feel like my days really rushed and I'm stressed out when I work an evening shift where is compared to a morning shift I wake up and get myself ready on my feet kids go to work and then I come home and I get to kinda relax and away
But not like relax relax because I got kids but my like my brain doesn't feel so like scattered a bit but that's just my ADHD but I do prefer mornings just because I just have the afternoon to rest and spend time with my kids without feeling like in a panic to get ready for work
The best shift to work I always thought was the five for 5 AM shifts till one or two in the afternoon because he had your whole afternoon and evening to do whatever you want and you went to bed at 8 o'clock and you refresh to get up at three or four to go to work that's what I thought at least
