Hey mama so right now I am at Applebee's to eat with my daughter just me and her she's 91 sitting in the high chair and it can be quite difficult on this is I think first time is just me and her and I'm trying to just keep her occupied and feeding her like little pieces of ice that seems to be working but I wanted to know do you have tips and tricks when you take your kids out to eat Are any of them still in a high chair at and yes just how do they do it restaurants and you should be pretty good bringing like little snacks helps so yeah
So we have three kids ages 52 and one we got to eat once a month maybe twice just kind of depends on him but we do snacks snacks is kind of like the best way we kind of bring it or we make a game out of it or talk they do pretty good actually just because you know we sit down as a family for dinner and stuff and so they do good but we have learned to do booths booths work the absolute best for my two year old
But I will say when the food takes really really really long time that's when it becomes a struggle because that because the kids get impatient they want to eat they want to run around they want to do this and that and so if the restaurant has like coloring things that helps like I said little snacks here in there especially for the baby well she's one but you know what I mean and yeah that's just my biggest hope we don't do the phone iPad thing of only time we do the phone is like I said it is if
This is turning into a really long I'm sorry but the only time we give them a phone and it will be my husbands phone is if you know their food comes out way before ours and they are done eating and we've been at the restaurant for over an hour and a half and we just wanna eat our food so this is only happened twice to us because we usually eat earlier than most people and so we don't have this problem but the two times that's happened that's what we do
Yeah I think I'm going to try my phone next time I think having this Rachel on in while she's watching that definitely will work I should've thought of that but my phone was gonna die so I was like oh man it's a tough choice but she when we survived it
So we don't go to restaurants that often because it's just not that fun for us because of this but I try to bring a couple toys and then I will break down and give her my phone because it's just like she won't she's hungry I also order right away because I know she's going to get hungry
Yeah definitely when she was like a little bit even a little bit younger we just we didn't like restaurants I could just sit so trip was not enjoyable to both of us be like Chyna have our hands tied with her and then try to eat the same time There she is not worth it
So my baby does pretty well in restaurants. Now that she's a little bit older, I am that pull the tablet out mama because listen I'm just trying to enjoy my margarita and my food. So I will pull the tablet out if it's necessary but she's starting to get into crayons and stuff so I think that'll be my go-to just to limit like tablet time because I tried to as much as I can.
Yeah I can't wait for her to get into like the Kranz and a little coloring books and sticker books and stuff like that but since she's too little yeah definitely next time I got to make sure my phone is charged so I can just put my phone prop it up let her watch the show her she is now yeah that way you can enjoy my food while it's hot
When they were babies they did absolutely amazing but now that my boys are older they are six and seven they get a little bit more impatient when we have to wait for our food to come so usually we just do like a to go and either eat at the park or take it home
Yeah I agree I feel like when she was like really little little she would just sleep more so you know you can just have her sleeping in like the car seat and you know it would just be easier now that she's like moving around and she's observing everything she's very antsy
Finds that this weird stage where it's like sometimes he'll be in the highchair or maybe he doesn't want to be in the highchair but I always bring him his like favourite snacks and because he's like three now I'll I'll bring him like a candy or an extra treat he doesn't get all the time because then I feel like it keeps him like kind of occupied but also screen time because I feel like screen time at restaurants is always an OK thing if it's keeping your baby at peace and not causing her rock his to like everyone around them you know but also like your baby smaller so maybe just like other to
Yes definitely bringing little snacks for sound silly because you're going there to eat but having some thing to just occupy them before the food gets there is perfect and I would always put in my diaper bag like little toys as well like just a little figurines or some thing that I can play with in front of them to occupy them too and then also Head crayons and coloring books sticker books different activities in our diaper bag as well but obviously at nine months you can't do
Yeah I had to start bringing toys that have like the clip on them cause she's also at the stage where she wants to throw everything so as long as I have that clipped to something she'll throw it but at least it won't hit the ground
So I'm not mum, I'm a dad, but my 7 year old son, he at first he was like a little bit too naughty and he'd run around a lot but as he's getting older he's getting better so yeah, so far so good.
What we do when we go out we usually try and find a appetizer that we can all eat as a family so that way we can have a little snack before we eat and then we do coloring and it is usually about it and it seems to keep my little ones entertained for a while until like our dinner comes and you know we can at least enjoy but it just depends usually
So my kids do okay in the restaurant. It just depends. Like if they're tired, they really don't do well anywhere. They're kind of fussy, but if we do take them out to eat, we always have snacks and then those little coloring packs that you get from Target, like in the bullseye section, their character coloring packs. And then, I mean, there's always like our phone as a last resort so.
Yeah, it usually depends. They start off eating well and then they get bored easily and they want to run around the restaurants and stuff and I'm not really a huge fan of giving them technology just to distract them. So try to give them crayons and things to draw on. Sometimes restaurants offer that so it kind of helps I guess.
