So of course I'm streaming on Spotify and it hit me. Music comes out every second of the day. Do you think that streaming platforms have actually decreased the quality of music that's out there because it's so readily available at a moment's notice? Do you think it's rushed the process of some of the most could have been Genius albums, but they had to put them out because they were leaked? What do you think about Spotify and Apple Music and all the other streaming platforms pushing out music the way they do?
I think it's more than streaming platforms to be fair the pure volume of music is out there it's insane so yes the shooting platforms have done that but I think availability their offers consumers use public transit and good quality is it still has come out it's just Vera
That's a very good way to think about it maybe is the case that there's more on top of the good stuff so it feels more arduous to go through and have to look for the good stuff yeah some point we need to call the crap if there's a way of charging although I do know what sport was sounds shit to me might not sound like a man or sound mate sound good Sonos
So I am a Spotify user and I don't have any tips for anyone else but I know if you are listening to a really amazing song that you've never heard before and you use the radio function then it will lead you to some really dope music but ask for everything else listen into their top curated playloose? Probably not.
You know I wanna put the blame on the streaming services because I love that we have music like really an available till it's like right there and I hate is awesome even though I'm not gonna lie I do miss the days of actually going to get physical copies of music because they this is the air we came up in but yeah I think the biggest thing is just Marketing people are really invested in the marketing part of things anymore with music
I also miss the fact that as an artist, you had to go out and promote your material. Now you just pop on live or drop a mysterious image and people go crazy. You don't have to work for it anymore. So you can push out twice to adventure music because you cut out the element of connectivity.
Honestly I have some friends who work in music and it's getting really bad the quality of music especially like I'm not sure about you guys but from the UK it is it is a struggle like we don't know what is going on and why the quality has decreased but definitely feel like streaming platforms have a have a pot to play on TikTok unfortunately I hear a lot of liberals complaining about TikTok but yeah
No, I think there's honestly too much music to consume on streaming services. Like I have Spotify and I have Apple music and honestly I don't even really listen to music that much anymore. I'll see what the new releases are. Well honestly there's so much music that's garbage because everybody's just able to put their own stuff out. I can make a song and in an hour it'll be on iTunes. I don't think that's really good because a lot of the stuff is garbage.
It kind of ties into the conversation Errol and I are having in his soundbite below, where there's so much going on in the music world, people are just dropping music, not really thinking about the quality of it. They need that instant gratification to be able to sustain themselves in creating more music. So they get that little high and they put something else out, not really thinking about Was it something that is meaningful and expresses something people want to hear?
