OK so at first I was against screen time when my daughter was younger by time has change she's an 18 month old and if she does not have screen time she's just after me everywhere I go so if I need to get stuff done I do Go towards screen time which I feel like there's nothing wrong with that as long as it's not some thing like Violet or you know
Yes, I completely agree. I think that screen time and moderation is completely fine. I am severely strict about what my kids do watch, so I only let them watch certain things. But I think that screen time is completely fine.
Agreed Amy, sometimes you just need to give them a little screen time so we can get some focus work done and then kind of move on with the day. I just never hand the tablet over.
When I had my first child, I was really strict about screen time. I wouldn't let her go on for like more than an hour a day. And then I had my second child.
Having my second child about three and a half years apart or so, the dynamic changed a little bit. At maximum most days, I would say I was about a year and a half apart.
I don't beat myself up as a parent if my kids go longer than two hours. It doesn't happen every day, but it's really dependent upon weather, you know, for example.
I do monitor very closely with what my children watch. Normally I allow them to watch educational shows that are still entertaining like cartoons, etc.
That way I know they're getting like benefit from watching like a TV show for example. They're not just you know drooling away at the TV it's it's educational.
Sometimes though, like depending, you know, if they've, you know, exhausted themselves academically with different activities, such as reading, math, etc.
I do permit them to watch some of their favorite shows such as Gabby's Dollhouse or True the Magic Kingdom for example or Magic School Bus. It's still educational but it's more fun.
Honestly, I don't mind it. I mean it helps me get things done if I need to get ready or I need to get his food ready or just get something done really quick. It helps me out.
