My daughter does not like to wear her socks in the house which I'm totally OK with but whenever my mom comes over she just goes like ballistic about it she starts to say like oh her feet are cold she's gonna get sick like what are you doing you have to force her to wear her socks in the house and like I'm not gonna force my child to wear so she doesn't wanna wear I just wanna wear she doesn't want to wear it I don't care like we're in the house and then she proceeds to tell me that I should be disciplining her because she needs to listen to me about wearing her socks I'm like are you fucking kidding me my kid does not need to wear her damn socks in the house like you're going nuts I don't know where the fuck you heard about like if you again six because they're not wearing their damn socks in the house like what the heck so do you guys horse for kids to wear so they don't want to wear I'm not pairing that like doesn't force my child to do whatever they don't wanna do not gonna go for some and do things you know they're not comfortable with
I am so glad I'm not the only one my mom does the same thing with the socks I mean my kids are crazy like a ball like they behave the socks or anything but sometimes they just like play around like take them off like it's not that big of a deal and she goes crazy
Like if it's cold I will put them on and they don't usually fuss about it But like just like the like the same thing with jackets like my mom goes crazy If they don't wear like these big winter jackets in the car, and I'm like no I'm not gonna stuff them like a sausage in their car seat. It's not gonna happen
I'm just wondering where the older generation gets the fact that if a kid's feeder code or exposed to air that they get sick. Make it make sense. Because our feet are connected to our immune system. Really?
Both my kids feet are cold and they don't want to wear socks I will give another alternative of hey you want to put some slippers on or hey do you want to sit on the couch and we can tuck you in with a Blankey but forcing them or punishing them for not wanting to put something
Forcing them or punishing them for not wanting to put something on is literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard and this is why the older generation have so many kids with trauma because of bullshit like that
The only thing I really like I don't even like saying the word force but like make my kids wear or just clothes like pants and shirts just cause I have my brother come over and my mom comes over and I want my kids to be close do you wanna mean
But my kids also get a choice. Like, they get to choose what they want to wear. So like all open their drawers and they'll pick out what they want to wear for the day
Yeah I know I totally agree like the older generation they're just wild to me honestly like exactly where did they get this whole fucking your feet are cold you have to wear socks you're gonna get sick ass back like I don't get it
I like I even saw your blanket it's really cold here I won't put my daughter in a jacket with them in her car seat so it's like sticker and like a sweater and just have like I was like a warmer sweater and a blanket and every time I called her like my mom's house
Oh my god, I'm in the house. They're like, what the hell are you doing? Like she was cold and I like every single time I explained to them like this is a safety thing. Okay, like she's warm. She's not gonna get sick. Like calm the fuck down. Like I don't get it. But yeah, I also give my daughter the choice of what she wants to wear.
I do not force my kids to wear anything that they don't want to wear like with my toddler like around the house like he always take his socks off I'm just like OK whatever like we're inside the heats on not a big deal
But I think the only thing that drives me nuts is that my oldest, he will have one sock on and one sock off and then like I'll find a bunch of socks throughout the house and I'm like look You either wear them or you don't wear them.
I remember when I was in elementary school and I'm the kid, not the parent, but my mom used to make me wear these red Fubus and it was absolutely mortifying. I don't want to wear it for booze.
Yeah personally I forced my daughter to wear a leash but that's just like my parenting like that's what I believe in it's been generational so that's just what I believe in
My kids are the same way they don't like wearing socks either even if we go to like my sister-in-law's house or something the first thing to come off is their socks and shoes and I would never force them to wear anything that they didn't want to wear
I don't have kids but wow I've never heard of this before if I did have a child I would be a hundred percent with you on this Like, I'm not gonna force a child to do something they don't want to do.
I've always let my kids pick out their own clothes and my aunt would always make comments about it because she just absolutely hated it because a lot of times they didn't even match but I didn't care because that's what they picked out and they were happy with what they picked out. But yeah, let your kids wear...
