Once everybody's bedtime, not asking for a place of judgment, just asking for a place of curiosity, my bedtime has always been 9pm approximately. Obviously give or take events and things like that, but 9pm my whole life, my whole life ever since, even when I was a little baby, my mom wanted to play with me, so she would put me down for a nap and I would wake up at 5, so I think I wasn't a baby, went to bed at 7. I was like a baby who was up from five to nine and then I went to bed at nine with my mom. Then I woke up at five in the morning so like I had a pretty solid sleep schedule ever since I was born and like that's honestly carried me it's carried me 9 9 p.m. for life what you guys.
I have a really bad sleep schedule. I've tried to fix it, but it just kind of goes back to it. I go to bed usually at like 5 a.m. is when I fall asleep, which is fun because all my classes are kind of late.
That's cool. I mean how like how many hours you get in there? Do you get like do you still get eight hours? Or you just like a You know you wake up at like one and start your day because like that'd be pretty cool or like can you manage on six? on the site you start at around 11.
I don't really have anything to do then I'll sleep until like 2pm. I think that's like 9 hours or some shit. But if I have stuff to do then I'm good with like raw dogging it on like 6, 5, even 4 hours of sleep.
12.30. But I don't always make it to 12.30. It's really actually the time that I take my medication. And I just say it's my bedtime because I'm taking my medication.
So you have like plus or minus 30 minutes is that how it works? You gotta be close to a bed or like getting ready no matter what time of day it is, where you are. Vacation, no vacation. Medicine, equal sleep.
Honestly, it really depends on how tired I am. Some days I'll be sleeping at three, some days at two, some days maybe four or five. It really all depends on how tight I am and what I'm doing the next day if I'm really busy I need to get out for whatever
Alright, so you gotta have a bedtime routine that's on the spectrum. That's fine. I think past midnight, I think it's like, you know, there's buckets, right? Past midnight is a bucket. 9 to 12 is a bucket. So you're in the 12th to like 5am bucket.
On a weekday I'm in bed by 11 pm latest I'll probably knock out 1130 to 12 am and I might be on my phone for a bit and on the weekend even if I do try to stay up late I think by 1 am I'm in bed
That's not as much variability as people think why. I think you think there's a lot of variability to the evening, but 11 to even 130 at the latest, you're talking about a two hour window where you're putting your head on that pillow. So I feel like you have a good sleep cycle. You're getting your nine hours, you're getting your eight hours, whatever it is, no matter at all costs, weekend, weekday, no matter what. So I like that.
Alright, Eric, I'm alright. Using the stereo to wind down. I mean, like the voices, I mean, I guess you can compare it to like white noise it's a good way to fall asleep so yeah goodnight
If she doesn't want me going all I think I'm addicted to that I'm I'm losing addiction thank God bless you I think I got addicted to this app for a bit
OK people are like oh my gosh you go to bed so early I am a college student I could try to go to bed between 1030 and 12 that's my bedtime I mean because girl I love sleep
I'm with you. I was taking 8AMs in college. So like I was up before like well nobody was on campus and I always like I did some dickish things. I used to like play music really loud where I was like boarding the class at like 5-6am during the week and people would like start yelling at me but I was like yo bro like classes here 8AMs are around the corner and those people had 8AMs too. It was wild
This is a great phone question because my bedtime has been terrible because I have an insomniac sometimes my bedtime is 10 sometimes my bedtime is three in the morning because I don't know I got to get better going to sleep on time but yeah Ideally it should be 10 I think for me but I know that shit that shit varies
Chris, I didn't know that about you. I'm sorry. I don't know how your body deals with the variability of that, right? Like, for me, if I don't get eight to nine hours of sleep, then like, I'm screwed. And like, you know, I get it if you go to bed a few hours later, it's like you sleep in a few hours later. But like, 2am to 8am, like six hours, that's not enough sleep. no matter what I do that day, like I'm not having a good day.
Then you sound like you're getting a lot of your work done in the evening. You sound like you're working from like 9pm to 2am. I don't know what you're doing, but you're working from 9pm to 2am.
So Lex, I'm really interested as like how do people operate with like that little sleep because like maybe you're used to it maybe your body has like grown accustomed to it but like since the dawn of like my life I've always needed like the eight to nine hours you know I can't even like if I get six I'm not even a functional person you know and it's like no coffee no nothing like makes me normal that day if I get six.
I'm the same way. I need like eight hours or at least seven and a half hours of sleep. I work from home so I have my own schedule and I basically just sleep in until I get the whole eight hours and I've tried so hard to like get on a normal schedule and wake up at like seven or eight in the morning and it just doesn't work. Like my body just feels better staying up later and getting up later.
